Library Policies (what we ask of our patrons)

Please be considerate of those trying to study around you.

Cell Phone Use & Noise In General:  We ask that cell phones be used outside or in the stairwells only.  The Granger Hansell Room on the third floor is the only quiet study area designated in the library, but please keep noise to a minimum throughout the rest of the building.  When consultation is necessary, study rooms are available for group study; please check with the Circulation Desk if you need to sign up for one.

Comfort, Temperature etc.: Please report any building related problems (messy restrooms, burnt out lights, uncomfortable temperature) to the desk so we can have Maintenance rectify these issues as soon as possible.

Food & Drink: Drinks are permitted in spill proof cups or bottle with screw on tops.  Water is allowed in any container.  Food is not allowed in the library.  Please help us keep the library odor and pest free by keeping it clean.

Lab Computer Security: Please remember to log off from the lab computers on the second floor when you are done.  Leaving these machines logged on can allow others to access your account information or to charge their printing to your account.  Remember to save your work often, as these machines will log off automatically after 30 minutes of inactivity.

Theft & Security: Please do not leave bags, purses or laptops unattended.  Even if you think you are only stepping away for a minute, please lock down your laptop at all times (locks are available at Circulation).  If you wish to take a break, please leave any valuables at the Circulation Desk.  We are happy to hold items for you.  Please help us keep the building secure: report any theft or other suspicious activity to the Circulation Desk immediately.
