NALP Guidelines

As per NALP guidelines, first-year law students are not permitted to apply for jobs before Dec. 1.

However, mere informational interviews are permitted. Also, you can start researching and preparing applications early!

Career Services Resources

Our advisor Sue McAvoy has compiled a lot of information on public interest/government career opportunities and advice on the Career Services Website: Log in to the intranet, then click HERE. There is also a wealth of printed information in the Office of Career Services, on the wall to the right of the printer.

Law Students for Reproductive Justice Internship Guide
This one-of-a-kind tool can guide you toward summers, semesters, or careers in reproductive justice advocacy. Career counselors and students alike can use it to identify, target, and apply for pre- and post-graduate professional training opportunities. The guide contains listings for legal internships and fellowships at over 70 non-profit organizations across the country. Each entry includes information about the organization's mission, contact and application information, and details about internship projects and requirements. Their approaches range from local grassroots education and state court litigation to federal policy advocacy and analysis of international legal norms. Available online here and in print in the Career Services Office, on the public interest wall.
