Emory L-STAR is the Emory Law School Travel and Reimbursement program. In launching L-STAR, Emory has now joined with other successful programs at the University of Michigan, Northwestern University, and the University of Virginia.
Firms agree to assist EPIC in fundraising by donating $165 for hotel accommodations or $35 for transportation to or from the airport for each student call-back when the student agrees to forgo hotel accommodation and/or airport taxis. (Donations are tax-deductible.) Students can choose to stay with family or friends instead of a hotel or choose not to use transportation provided by the firm. Participating law firms make a tax deductible contribution to EPIC in lieu of paying for hotel accommodations or transportation costs. The contribution will go directly towards funding EPICís summer grant program.
