Wednesday, September 29, 2010, 7:30pm: Film Screening: "Americans on Hold: Profiling, Prejudice, and National Security." The Emory Immigration Law Society (EILS), the Muslim American Law Student Association, and the ACLU of Georgia will present a movie screening of the documentary, Americans on Hold: Profiling, Prejudice, and National Security. The film is produced by the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice at NYU Law. The documentary film exposes the U.S. government’s use of discriminatory profiling in the name of national security, and its impact on South Asian, Arab, Middle Eastern, and Muslim community members. The screening will be followed by a panel of speakers, including Azadeh Shashahani (ACLU of GA National Security, Immigrants' Rights Project Director), Professor An-Na'im (Charles Howard Candler Professor of Law, Emory University School of Law), and community members Lorraine and Hasan Irier.
