UMOJA Luncheon

BLSA held its UMOJA Luncheon on Saturday, February 12, 2011. Umoja is one of the seven principles of Kwanzaa and is Swahili for "Unity." BLSA members celebrated our unity by exploring our cultural roots. We visited the Michael C. Carlos Museum on Emory's campus and viewed the special exhibition Divine Intervention: African Art & Religion and the permanent collections, including the Egyptian, Nubian, and Near Eastern Art collection which houses the oldest Egyptian mummy in the Americas.
