Polycom V500 IP-based videoconferencing unit


Media services has a mobile cart equipped with a 24" monitor and a Polycom V500 videoconferencing unit. Contact Corky or Scott to make arrangements to use this unit.

The unit supports IP-based videoconferencing at data rates up to 768kbps.

The unit is also data-enabled, using Polycom's People+Content IP software.

People+Content IP Features and Benedfits

  • Share Content from your PC with anyone in the video conference
  • Content is shared using the video conferencing standard: H.239
  • Optionally create a password for security
  • No cables are needed! Content is send over corporate IP connection from your computer to the video conference system
  • ISDN, SIP or H.323 calls can include Content shared from People+Content IP – all that is required is for the video conferencing system to have a static IP address assigned to it
  • Audio participants can share content just as easily as video participants
  • Polycom People+Content IP application is free (see download on this page) and can be loaded on an unlimited number of PC’s.
  • NOTE: You will need to download and install the People+Content software on your PC. You will also need to know the IP address of the V500 unit. Contact Scott or Corky for this information.
