An email client is a program for composing, reading, and organizing email messages.  Some examples are Microsoft's Outlook and Outlook Express, Mozilla's Thunderbird, Apple's aptly named Mail, Eudora, etc.  Using an email client is the alternative to an online interface such as WebMail.

There are several advantages to using an email client.  The user interface is generally much more customizable and user friendly.  Clients provide more sophisticated sorting and searching options.  An email client can provide off-line access to your mail.  Finally, a client can automatically check for new messages and notify you when one is received.

This guide will show you how to setup an email client to handle your law school email.
