Why is Annual Giving Important?

Annual gifts to Emory Law provide a crucial bridge between tuition revenue and the actual cost of running our top-tier law school. Gifts to the Law School Fund for Excellence, regardless of their size, provide the flexibility to address pressing needs and allow the dean to focus on the school’s highest priorities.

Annual giving is one of the most important ways alumni and friends of Emory Law can make an immediate impact. By making a gift to the Law School Fund, you help support scholarship and financial aid, student and faculty recruitment, research, and student-led organizations such as the Emory Public Interest Committee, Black Law Students Association, and Legal Association of Women Students, just to name a few. In addition, your annual contribution also helps to fund our distinctive programs integrating theory and practice, including the Kessler-Eidson Program for Trial Techniques; the nationally recognized Center for Transactional Law and Practice; the award-winning Barton Child Law and Policy Center; Emory Law’s pathbreaking technology partnership with Georgia Tech, TI:GER®; and extensive field placement and clinical opportunities.

Another key initiative supported through the annual gifts of Emory Law alumni is the Center for Professional Development and Career Strategy. Developed in 2011, the Center provides the structure, oversight, guidance and resources that enable students to explore their unique professional journey, while leveraging professional development and job search tools to their maximum advantage.
