Biography

Jennifer W. Mathews teaches first-year and upper-level legal writing courses and courses in the JM program. She graduated cum laude from Amherst College in 1991 and worked in academic publishing for a few years before receiving a JD from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, in 1997. While at Rutgers, she served as an editor on the Rutgers Law Review and taught legal research and writing to first-year students.

Before she started working at Emory in 2000, she clerked for the Honorable Alfred M. Wolin in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey, worked in the commercial litigation department at McCarter & English LLP in Newark, and worked as a writer and editor at Lawyers Weekly USA, a national legal newspaper based in Boston. She also served as assistant dean for Student Affairs for two years at Emory Law.
