Professor An-Na'im Discusses G-8 Aid to AfricaBy: Beverly James
Professor Abdullahi A. An-Na'im is quoted in the July 13 issue of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution on a story about aid to African countries. "Any attention to African issues is welcome because of the horrendous conditions throughout the continent . . . We need to be promoting the capacity of African civil society to monitor and follow through with accountability from their own governments. And second, we need to promote a constituency for Africa in developed countries," said An-Na'im, director of the religion and human rights project Emory University Law School and native of Sudan.
