Fineman quoted in Wall Street Journal on Homeschooling Cooperatives
Robert W. Woodruff Professor of Law Martha A. Fineman was quoted in a Sept. 8 Wall Street Journal article on the growth of home-schooling cooperatives, which some families are creating as an alternative to public schools, private schools or teaching their children themselves. Fineman raised the point that such schools could also hide isolated cases of abuse.
"In a homeschool, it removes children from any external scrutiny," Fineman says. "It is a good thing that children are interacting with people outside of the family."
