Emory Law’s Blank a Visiting Fellow at University of North Dakota
This week, Laurie Blank, director of Emory Law’s International Humanitarian Law Clinic, lectured on current and historical influences on the laws of warfare—from Shakespeare’s Henry V to military use of drone bombs—at the University of North Dakota’s Center for Human Rights and Genocide Studies. As fall visiting fellow, Blank lectured and led a symposium and a faculty workshop. Her topics, respectively, were: “Using the Rhetoric of War for Counterterrorism: What Impact on Human Rights,” “Exploring the Drone and the Legal Unknown” and “Using the Law of War as a Tool Across Disciplines.”
