Sue McAvoy, Director / Public Interest Advisor

Sue advises 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls and is also the office’s public interest advisor. Sue manages and recruits employers for the Emory in New York Interview Program, and assists in the office's marketing efforts, including making alumni and employer visits.  Sue also organizes and presents a variety of programs and serves as the liaison to the Christian Legal Society, Emory Public Interest Committee, and Health Law Society.

In her role as Public Interest Advisor, Sue manages the Georgia Law School Consortium’s Public Sector Career Fair.  Sue presents a Public Sector Job Search program twice annually, maintains the Atlanta Public Interest/Government Directory, and manages the Public Interest Mentor Program.

Sue has worked for Emory’s CSO since 1993.  Prior to her work at Emory, she was Director of Attorney Recruitment and Development with Hurt, Richardson, Garner, Todd & Cadenhead (an Atlanta firm, now dissolved) for 13 years. 

Sue received her B.A. in Economics from Davidson College.
