Michelle R. Stevens, Esq., Senior Director for Career Services


Michelle collaborates with the Assistant Dean on office policies and procedures, manages the department's administrative staff, and manages the office in the Assistant Dean's absence.  In addition, Michelle advises 1Ls, 2Ls and 3Ls.  She recruits employers and manages the Emory in Washington D.C. Interview Program, and is the primary liaison for the Southern California Interview Program.  Michelle assists in the office's marketing efforts, including making alumni and firm visits. She presents career-related programming.  She also organizes, recruits practitioners, and publicizes a variety of programming utilizing outside speakers.  She conducts mock interviews for students in all class years.  Michelle is the CSO’s liaison for the Black Law Students Association, Hispanic Law Society, and Environmental Law Society. She also manages the reciprocity requests made by other law schools and initiates requests for reciprocity on behalf of our students and alumni.
 
Before joining Emory, Michelle was Associate Director of Career Planning and Professional Development at Washington and Lee University School of Law in Lexington, VA and a Career Counselor at American University Washington College of Law.  Prior to her work in law school career services, Michelle worked in private practice for a boutique firm in Washington, DC.

Michelle received her J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC and her B.A. in International Affairs from Virginia Wesleyan College in Norfolk, VA.
