Ways to Help

Emory Law School alumni are crucial to the continued success of the school and the student body. Students are anxious to speak with alumni, who play a vital role in helping prospective students understand why Emory is a special place.

There are many ways to help the Office of Admission to contact our future students. You will be asked to choose any of these when you fill out the Volunteer Form. These recruitment activities include:

Direct student contact (you will receive student names from the Office of Admission). Examples:

  • Contact targeted admitted students by phone

  • Email targeted students and encourage them to contact you

  • Participate in chats with students from around the country

Assist the Emory University Office of Admission at specific recruiting events. Examples:

  • Help with college fairs and/or Law School Forums

  • Participate in panels for visiting day

  • Participate in events surrounding Woodruff Weekend

Host and/or attend receptions/meals for prospective students. Examples:

  • Host receptions for several admitted students

  • Invite admitted students out for lunch or dinner

  • Invite admitted students to visit your office

Adopt-a-School program to work with students from a particular school or area. Examples:

  • Adopt your undergraduate school and contact targeted students from that school

  • Adopt a school in your area and contact targeted students from that school

  • Adopt a school as assigned by the Office of Admission staff

Volunteer for the "Lawyer for a Day" program for prospective students in your area by inviting one or two students to job shadow you for a day, or half a day. Activities could include:

  • Discussing the daily routine of attorneys and meeting colleagues

  • Meeting with clients, observing meetings or consultations

  • Visiting a courtroom or conducting business off site
