Foreign LLM

Emory Law offers a one-year LLM to foreign law students and professionals. The program began in the 1970s and was revamped in 1992 and offers a select group of foreign nationals closely supervised training in international and comparative legal studies. Emory allows students to receive an LLM in their preferred fields of legal concentration rather than limit students to a single area of study.

Admission
The key to admission into Emory's Foreign LLM program is an excellent academic record and a serious interest in experiencing additional legal education in a superior American educational environment.

Curriculum
With the assistance of Emory's faculty, students design their particular LLM programs to meet their own needs and interest. For more information about the courses available at Emory Law, please visit the Academic Catalog.

Applicants must have graduated with a high rank from a foreign law school or have been part of a law faculty with standards substantially similar to those of an accredited law school in the United States.

Applicants who hold degrees from other than an English-language university must take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and achieve a score of at least 600 on the paper exam, at least 250 on the computer based exam or at least 95 on the iBT.
