Legal education is a major investment in time, energy, and financial resources. Before you choose to attend law school, and before you decide on Emory, you should carefully evaluate your means of financing the three years that you plan to spend in a JD program. LLM Students are not eligible for the Woodruff Fellowship or Emory Law School Scholarships.
As you prepare for graduate study, you should work to get your personal finances in order.
Minimize your personal debts such as car payments and credit card balances.
Save money, even if in small amounts, on a regular basis so that some of your savings can be used to defray tuition costs.
Ensure that you have a good credit record -- pay utility bills, credit card balances, apartment rent and undergraduate tuition expenses regularly and on time. In addition, order a copy of your credit report to check on its accuracy. Good credit will become highly important if you apply for loan assistance when you come to law school.
