Students who wish to transfer to Emory from other fully accredited law schools (ABA-AALS) will be considered after completing their first year if they rank in the upper half of their class. If you are in a part-time program at a law school, you must have completed the equivalent of a full-time first year curriculum at your institution.Students who are ineligible for readmission to another law school may not transfer to Emory. No credit is awarded for law school work completed with a grade lower than C or its equivalent. A transfer student will be credited with acceptable hours earned elsewhere. Transfer students may graduate after successfully completing not less than four full semesters of residence and not less than ninety semester hours, at least 58 of which have been completed at Emory.
We will begin accepting transfer applications May on 1st. The deadline for transfer applications is June 30.
We typically receive 70-80 transfer applications. In recent years we have admitted anywhere from one student to twenty students. We will not make that determination until mid-summer.
