James B. Hughes, Jr., Vice Dean

Jim Hughes is a senior administrator with faculty rank. He reports to the Dean, and acts as the Dean's designate in his absence. A. James Elliott, Associate Dean for External Affairs

Jim Elliott works with many of our external constituencies including alumni/ae,judges, and members of the bar. He also works with the development staff on fund raising and CLE activities. Prof. Elliott teaches Legal Professionalism, Banking Law and Commercial Real Estate.

Susan Fitzgerald Carter, Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations

Susan Fitzgerald Carter oversees external and internal communications and has overall responsibility for development and alumni relations for the law school. She has overall responsibility for major gifts from individuals, corporations and foundations. She manages all fund raising activities including,endowment, programmatic and annual operating support. In addition, Carter works closely with the Law School Council and the University's development team. She is available to talk with alumni/ae and friends of Emory Law about opportunities and ideas.

Brooks Seay, Associate Dean for Finance and Administration

Brooks Seay serves as the law school's chief financial officer, and is responsible for budget planning, policy, and management as well as considerable institutional research necessary for compliance with the strategic plan, accreditation, and forward planning. Her portfolio includes oversight for Human Resources, Finance and Operations and in this capacity, she serves as liaison to numerous university administrative offices and service units.

Katherine Brokaw, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs

Katherine Brokaw is responsible for the management of the law school's Office of Student Affairs. The office has primary responsibility for new-student orientation; oversight of student organizations and activities; coordination of accommodations for students with disabilities; general advice regarding student course selection and academic assistance; academic good standing issues;student-related university events and functions; university housing issues; foreign study programs; student grievances in the law school and the University; administration of the Professional Conduct Code; assisting faculty with administration of examinations, including the use of examination software; and providing assistance to students with general personal issues and concerns.

Lynell Cadray, Assistant Dean, Office of Admission and Financial Aid and Chief Diversity Officer, Office of Diversity and Community Initiatives

Lynell oversees all aspects of students’ admission and enrollment into Emory’s law school for all JD, LLM and Joint Degree Candidates.  Her office is responsible for recruitment, admission and financial aid and scholarships.  In addition, Lynell serves as the Chief Diversity Officer for the law school and works with program planning for all diversity and cultural related events. Lynell also serves on the President’s Commission on the Status of Women at Emory University and the Women in Leadership Committee.  Lynell is the law school’s liaison with the Law School Admission Council where she serves on the Test Development and Research Committee.

Janet D. Hutchinson, Assistant Dean for Career Services

Janet Hutchinson manages the Office of Career Services and its staff.  In this role, she oversees career advising for students and alumni, the development and presentation of career-related programming, on-campus interviews, off-campus recruitment programs, and employer relations and marketing.  In addition, she manages the collection and reporting of employment statistics to internal and external audiences.

Celeste Katz, Assistant Dean for Student Records

Celeste Katz serves as the law school registrar, and is responsible for all matters relating to student records, including registration, drop/add,and the maintenance of student academic records (grades, grade reports). She determines enrollment status, academic standing, and class rank. She counsels with students regarding their degree requirements, and prepares certifications for bar exams, bar loans, and bar registration. Celeste advises students with respect to course overloads, leaves of absence, audits, and withdrawals, and coordinates preparation of the internal student directory and student mail files.She also plans and coordinates the Law School's Commencement ceremony and related activities.

Tim Hussey, Director of Marketing and Communications

Tim Hussey oversees marketing and communications for Emory Law. He ensures appropriate use of the Emory Law brand in all communications, manages advertising and various other marketing efforts, and writes and edits information about the school for distribution to diverse audiences through various communication vehicles, including news releases, publications, and Web sites.

Kevin Moody, Director of Administration

Kevin is responsible for the management of Emory Law's human resources and operations functions. He directs all human resources programs and services related to hiring and staffing, employee relations, training and development, compensation and benefits. He is also responsible for the overall maintenance of the law school's facilities and grounds, including Gambrell Hall, MacMillan Library, and the North Decatur Suite. Kevin works closely with the Associate Dean for Finance and Administration to plan and implement sound fiscal, operational, and administrative strategies in support of the law school's strategic business needs.

Ethan Rosenzweig 02L, Director of Alumni Relations

Ethan oversees all alumni outreach, and is responsible for engaging and involving alumni in support of the law school. He coordinates the alumni leadership groups, alumni services, external events and programs as well as the reunion programs. Ethan travels throughout the country to promote the law school's goals and ensure that alumni feedback is voiced at the school. Alumni are encouraged to contact Ethan to discuss any ideas or opportunities

Veronica Wright, Director of Operations

Veronica Wright is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Law School's physical plant and operations. She handles issues related to building maintenance and construction/renovation; safety and security; telecommunications and parking; room reservations; and special event planning. She manages the reception desk and mail room, photocopy center, media services, custodial and maintenance services, and the issuance of keys. She and her staff also assist with locker assignments, the allocation of office space, and purchasing.

Terry E. Gordon, Associate Director of the Law Library

Terry Gordon is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the library and supervision of the professional staff. In addition, he manages the technology underlying all aspects of library automation, including the EUCLID online catalog.
