Architecture and Construction Professionals
Building—or rebuilding—a city requires incorporating a vision for the future within the constraints of the present. Laws and regulation guide many design and construction decisions, promote stewardship of limited resources and shape the very nature of the communities sheltered in tomorrow’s homes and buildings. An understanding of the basics of contract and property law, in addition to the more specialized areas of construction law, environmental law, and state and local government law, complements the design and technical expertise of architects, city planners and construction professionals. Understanding the constraints on resources and how they are used unlocks new ideas and processes that help bring a designer’s vision into tangible reality.
