Statement Regarding Ilan Grapel, Emory Law Class of 2012
On Monday, June 13, Emory University School of Law received reports that one of our rising third-year students, Ilan Grapel, had been arrested and detained in Egypt. Ilan is a candidate for the juris doctor degree, scheduled to graduate in May 2012. We are in touch with his family and are working with them to provide support and assistance.
Ilan is an active member of the Emory Law community. The MacMillan Law Library nominated him for a University outstanding student worker award, and he is involved in the Emory Public Interest Committee, or EPIC, as well as Emory Law’s Pro Bono program, working with Student Legal Services. Grapel also volunteers with Heir Property Project and the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program.List: <- Back to: News Releases
