Professor Vandall Quoted on Delta Alcohol Suit Before State's High Court

By: Beverly James

Professor Frank Vandall is quoted in the April 18 edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution regarding a lawsuit against Delta Airlines for serving too much alcohol to a passenger. The passenger, William Serio, drove home after his flight landed in Atlanta, swerved across the center line and struck another vehicle head-on. The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injury and is suing Delta for damages.

"It's one thing to say to Hooters or Tom's Bar that they have to watch how much alcohol they serve. ...It's changing the nature of how airlines do business to say that now they have to keep their eyes on their customers," Vandall said. "That hasn't been done. It is a brand new concept."
