Galison 01L is Among Top 40 Under 40 M&A Leaders
Brian S. Galison 01L was recognized as one of the nation’s top merger and acquisition professionals at the 2nd Annual 40 under 40 M&A Advisor Recognition Awards, held July 26 in Los Angeles, Calif.
Galison is a partner at the Atlanta office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP; his areas of practice are corporate, mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital, securities and technology law.
M&A Advisor, a subscriber newsletter and online community, has recognized leaders in the merger and acquisition, turnaround and financing industries since 1998.
“In 2010 we initiated the 40 under 40 Awards to recognize the emerging industry leaders,” said Roger Aguinaldo, CEO of the M&A Advisor. The new award was created “to promote mentorship and professional development amongst the emerging business leaders.”
Judging was based on quantitative criteria including transaction value, impact on shareholder/company value and market share. Qualitative considerations include impact of transaction on the market/industry, ingenuity in structuring and/or negotiations, diligence and perseverance in consummating the deal and other unique attributes, according to the company’s website.
2011 judges included John K. Castle, chairman and CEO, Castle Harlan; Al Koch, vice chairman, Alix Partners; Steven Goldberg, partner and co-chairman of the Transactions Practice Team, Baker Hostetler; Lee Duran, private equity practice leader, BDO; Gordon McCoun, vice chairman, FD; Robert “Bobby” Blumenfeld, executive director, ACG New York; Bernard Zaia, managing director, Wells Fargo Securities; and J. Scott Victor, partner and managing director, SSG.
In 2010, Galison was recognized by Super Lawyers magazine as a Georgia “Rising Star.” He earned his bachelor’s at the University of Michigan and has taught venture capital law at Emory Law as an adjunct professor.
