Emory Law Professors in the News
Four Emory Law professors recently were featured in the news discussing the housing market, the American tax system, the exclusionary rule and assisted suicide.
- Professor Frank Alexander was quoted in a March 8 Atlanta Journal-Constitution article on the housing and foreclosure crisis in Georgia. Professor Alexander also was featured on a CNN segment March 4, sharing his views on fixing the housing crisis. A video of the segment is available here.
- Professor Dorothy Brown wrote an op-ed piece, “Two Americas, Two Tax Codes,” for the March 8 issue of the New York Times. The piece discusses the disparity between how income from stock dividends and capital gains are taxed versus how wages and interest from saving accounts are taxed. Professor Brown also was quoted in a Reuters article on how President Obama’s tax proposal could impact U.S. charities.
- Professor Paul Rubin wrote an op-ed piece for the Feb. 28 issue of the Wall Street Journal. In it, Professor Rubin discusses a recent Supreme Court decision, Herring v. United States, which allowed the use of evidence obtained from a search that was based on incorrect information.
- Professor Ani Satz was quoted in a March 2 Time magazine article on a Marietta, Ga. group accused of assisted suicide.
