Emory Law Mock Trial Team Named Runner Up at National Competition
The Emory Law Mock Trial Society was the runner up in the national finals of the American Bar Association Labor and Employment Trial Advocacy Competition in Los Angeles on Jan. 29-30. The team—comprised of April Ross 11L, Holly Sheffield 12L, James Thomas 12L and Emily Yu 11L—had the highest total scores for every round of the national competition, losing only in the finals. They ranked number two out of 108 teams nationwide.
At the national competition, Emory Law competed against teams from University of Virginia School of Law, University of California-Berkeley Boalt Hall School of Law, Baylor Law School, Southwestern Law School, Brooklyn Law School, Chicago-Kent College of Law and George Washington University Law School. The final round was between Emory Law and Virginia.
Emory Law advanced to the finals in Los Angeles after winning the southeastern regional competition in Miami last October. The team was coached by Andy Pascual of the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office.List: <- Back to: News Releases
