Emory Law Alumnus Wins 2007 Burton Award
Brian M. Herman 05L, an associate with Fisher & Phillips LLP in Atlanta, recently was awarded the 2007 Burton Award for Legal Writing. Herman was honored for his article, “Managing the Risk of Employee Blogging,” which he co-authored with firm partner Robert W. Ashmore. The article was published by Risk Management magazine.
The Burton Award, presented annually by the Burton Foundation, is a unique program dedicated to rewarding effective legal writing. The program honors law firms and law school students who understand how to use plain, clear, and concise language and avoid archaic, stilted legalese.
Burton Award recipients will be honored at an awards ceremony and dinner June 4 at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
Herman focuses his practice at Fisher & Phillips on labor and employment law, representing management in employment litigation, union campaigns, and contract administration.List: <- Back to: News Releases
