Stories and photos from Reunion Weekend 2013
More than 300 Emory Law alumni returned to campus for 2013 Reunion Weekend, which was graced by warm and sunny September weather.
The celebration kicked off Friday evening with a special 55th reunion reception for the class of 1958 at the Carlos Museum, followed by the Emory Law Alumni Awards ceremony in Gambrell Hall. Alumni, family and friends turned out in support of this year’s recipients: Leslie Powell 09L and Priya Vivian 04C 09L were jointly recognized with the Young Alumni Award, Patrise Perkins-Hooker 84B 84L received the Eléonore Raoul Greene Trailblazer Award, Barrett Hawks 60B 63L was honored with the Alumni Service Award, and Sam Olens 83L accepted the Distinguished Alumni Award.
On Saturday, Allison Dykes, vice president of Alumni Relations, moderated a thoughtful and informative conversation in Tull Auditorium between Carol Ward 83L, vice president and corporate secretary for Mondelēz International, and Rick Rieder 83B, managing director and CIO of Fundamental Fixed Income Portfolios at BlackRock on the topic of leadership in the 21st century. Alumni gathered with their families on Bacardi Plaza for a Southern barbecue lunch and entertainment—the moon bounce, face painting and games were a hit with the younger guests—and the day concluded with festivities for reunion classes at house parties throughout Atlanta, hosted by classmates and faculty.
Please be sure to mark next Sept. 19-21 on your calendar for Alumni Weekend 2014, especially the reunion classes of 1964, 1969, 1974, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2004 and 2009!
