Brown Panelist for National Commission to Create Jobs
Emory Law Professor Dorothy Brown is a panelist for the Congressional Black Caucus’ “For the People” Jobs Commission, to be held Wednesday in Washington, D.C. The event’s goal is to discuss policy recommendations and proposals that will create jobs.
Brown will speak on how “Jobs Can be Created to Meet Today’s Needs,” with fellow panelists U.S. Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, New York Times columnist Charles Blow and Institute for America’s Future founder and President Robert Borosage.
The panel will discuss the pros and cons of job sharing, federal public works job creation programs, tax credits, economic stimulus programs, place-based strategies (e.g. empowerment zones, renewal communities) and sector-based skill training and employment strategies.
