An-Na’im Says Less Than Half Muslim Women Veil for Religion, Politics

France’s decision to ban full-face veils for women earlier this year has its critics, including Nancy Graham Holm, who posted an opinion piece on The Huffington Post on Nov. 18.

Holm cites Emory University’s Abdullahi Ahmed An-Na'im, Charles Howard Candler Professor of Law, to say that 30 percent to 40 percent of Muslim women worldwide cover their heads or faces for religious or political reasons.
